My Own EmpireIt was for all, that the war was won!  Yet the father returned never to see his son.  The grass was no longer lush and green  But stained with a grotesque scene.   
Never again will I dare to fight such a futile battle  When having so many times been knocked off the saddle  Pushed and pulled, scraped, beaten and bruised  I escaped the torment of being extensively used.   
It's my victory, and lesson left for my own  As I stand tall, happiness thrives alone  A smirk on my face, with blood on my hands  I never realized self preservation was so grand

Sylense. Chapter 1.Wake up "Why?", he asks without even opening his eyes. Because you have work to do. Much has to be done in such a short time. He rolls over on his side and looks out from the barn in which he fell asleep. With a yawn he sits up, "Oh. Right."  
 
Sylense. He constantly remembers that name from his childhood. From his earliest memories as an orphan, the adults in his life were calling him this. Never speaking, or making any social advances with other children, he sat in the corners of any room he was in just staring at the ground, occasionally talking to himself. Peculiar he thought, that when he was first asked to spell his name when Sylense. Chapter 1.

How long have we all been asleep?
To walk through life with our eyes perpetually closing to everything we don't like.
Convenience is what suits our needs most. What is there in front of us, what is easily accessible and within our grasp.
Conscious thought is fixated on what we assume to be dire need, a way for us to feel complete in our own little world of self-induced delusion.

When have you truly woken from your dream?
Things aren't better when you open your eyes, but at least you can truly see what's around you and finally take a look at who you really are.
